Jump Festa 2026 revealed thrilling developments for Kaiju No. 8 fans, announcing a new anime short and a highly anticipated conclusion arc set to air on December 20, 2025.

Conclusion Arc Details

The upcoming conclusion arc will adapt all manga chapters up to the series finale, chapter 129. Alongside this announcement, a promotional video and key visuals were unveiled, generating excitement among fans.

New Anime Short

The anime short will center on Gen Narumi's everyday experiences and is titled, “Narumi no Heijitsu”. This special episode celebrates Gen Narumi’s birthday and draws parallels with the previous spin-off focused on Soshiro Hoshina, which aired in March 2025.

Cast Appearances

During the event, notable cast members, including Masaya Fukunishi (Kafka Hibino), Wataru Kato (Reno Ichikawa), Kengo Kawanishi (Soshiro Hoshina), and Koki Uchiyama (Gen Narumi), made appearances to engage with fans.

Creator’s Remarks

Series creator Naoya Matsumoto expressed gratitude towards fans and cast members, reflecting on the impactful year for Kaiju No. 8—a year that saw the broadcast of season two and the release of a game. Matsumoto indicated that while the manga's serialization has concluded, the characters live on through ongoing collaborations with the anime and game production teams. He reassured fans that the journey is far from over:

"...even though the serialization has ended, Kafka and the others continue to come alive through my exchanges... Please continue to look forward to Kafka and the others in the future."

Manga Background

Launched in July 2020 on Shonen Jump+, Kaiju No. 8 has been collected into 15 tankobon volumes as of March 2025. The series is also accessible digitally on Manga Plus and has been published in print by Viz Media since December 2021.

An animated adaptation produced by Production I.G aired from April 13 to June 29, 2024, with a second season premiering in July 2025.
