In a recent announcement, Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh revealed that Arata Yamaji's manga, Hoshi-kui Koroshi Egnaro, will no longer be published due to "various circumstances" affecting the author's ability to consistently work on the project. The story, set against the backdrop of a vast rift that cleaves the world in two, follows Egnaro on his quest to slay a god in hopes of achieving greatness.

Yamaji launched Hoshi-kui Koroshi Egnaro in February 2024, and as of April 24, the manga's third compiled volume had been released. Prior to this, Yamaji was known for the successful A Certain Scientific Accelerator series, which he began in 2013 and concluded in July 2020, resulting in 12 volumes.

Seven Seas Entertainment was set to release the English version of Egnaro, with the 12th volume made available in June 2021. Additionally, the series inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation that premiered in July 2019, with Crunchyroll and Funimation streaming it during its original run.

The cancellation marks a notable shift in the manga landscape, especially due to Yamaji's past successes within the industry.
