Happosai Joins the Chaos in Ranma ½ Episode 18

The official site for the anime Ranma ½ has released new images and a synopsis for episode 18, which will air on November 9 at 12:55 a.m. (JST). This episode marks the first appearance of Happosai, the master of Soun and Genma, who arrives to add chaos to the lives of the main characters.

Happosai will be voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue, celebrated for roles such as Kakashi Hatake in Naruto and Hiei in Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho.

Episode Overview

In this episode, Happosai takes it upon himself to train Ranma Saotome as his successor in the Free Combat Martial Arts style. However, his selfish antics soon frustrate the Tendou family. After a confrontation where Happosai easily defeats Ranma, he punishes the youth by expelling him from home, forcing him to go on a "training journey." An unexpected twist awaits when Ranma tries to take revenge on the elderly master.

A Classic with New Life

This new adaptation of Ranma ½ continues to reimagine iconic moments from Rumiko Takahashi's original manga. Combining romantic comedy and martial arts, the series follows Ranma, a young boy who transforms into a girl when splashed with cold water, and his fiancée Akane Tendou as they navigate whimsical and heartfelt situations.

A Lasting Legacy

The original anime ran from 1989 to 1992 and has enjoyed global popularity through several films and OVAs. In 2011, a live-action drama starring Yui Aragaki was also produced. As episode 18 debuts, the series expands its universe while reintroducing beloved characters from this classic 90s comedy.
