Halloween: The Game Unveils Chilling Gameplay and Features
Exciting new gameplay trailer for 'Halloween: The Game' revealed!
The recent Gamescom event revealed an exciting new horror game, based on John Carpenter's legendary Halloween franchise. The newly released gameplay trailer for Halloween: The Game not only transports players back to Haddonfield but also introduces a chilling supernatural ability for the iconic Michael Myers.
This title, executive produced by Carpenter himself, is designed as an asymmetric stealth horror experience that immerses players in the terrifying universe of the original 1978 film. The character of Michael Myers is brought to life through motion capture by Nick Castle, the original 'Shape'.
Players will have the option to either assume the role of Haddonfield residents trying to survive the night or become Michael Myers. The game description states:
"Step into the chilling world of John Carpenter’s genre-defining film, now transformed into a suspenseful one-versus-many stealth horror experience. Put on the iconic mask to become the ultimate slasher, Michael Myers, or strive to thwart his plans as civilians seeking to save unsuspecting townsfolk."
As civilians, players must stick to the shadows, warn residents, and find a way to alert the authorities. Meanwhile, as Michael Myers, players will introduce terror by cutting phone lines to keep police away.
The trailer showcases gameplay from both perspectives, illustrating how citizens can momentarily confront Myers, despite the reality that he can never truly be stopped. A major highlight is Myers' new stealth ability, named "Shape-Jumping", allowing him to close in on his victims undetected.
Jared Gerritzen, CCO of IllFonic, shared the team's vision: "Our goal is to push the horror experience to the next level with single and multiplayer modes, ensuring every player enjoys a unique experience. Whether they become the boogeyman or defend against him, Halloween offers an unforgettable battle of fear and survival."
With both single-player and multiplayer options, alongside an immersive horror experience, Halloween: The Game is shaping up to be the ultimate slasher game. The title is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 8, 2026.
