SZA's 'Snooze' Selected as Opening Theme for Gundam Hathaway

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced a special trailer revealing that R&B artist SZA's song "Snooze" will be the opening theme for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. This film is the second installment in the Gundam Hathaway series.

Release Date Update

The film is set to premiere on January 30 at over 365 theaters across Japan, following a prior delay initially slated for 2025. North American screenings will be scheduled later.

Plot Overview

The narrative continues to evolve around Hathaway, who grapples with his feelings for Gigi, alongside his allegiance to MAFTY. As tensions escalate with Kenneth preparing to confront MAFTY, Gigi's arrival promises to significantly impact both men's fates within this intense space drama.

The film will introduce new characters, including:

Production Insights

Trilogy Anticipation

This film marks the continuation of what is planned as a trilogy, with the second film featuring story elements diverging from Yoshiyuki Tomino's original works. It aims to relate deeply to the character Hathaway Noa, son of Bright Noa from the original series.

The first film of the series received great acclaim, selling over 259,000 tickets in the opening days and grossing approximately $19.57 million in Japan as of its last reporting.
