New Trailer and Release Date for Gundam Hathaway Sequel

A brand new trailer and visual for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe have been unveiled, confirming that the much-anticipated sequel will premiere in Japan on January 30, 2026. Directed by Shukou Murase, this film serves as the second installment in the planned Gundam Hathaway trilogy and will reach North America at a later date.

The story follows Hathaway Noa as he grapples with his unresolved feelings for Gigi while pursuing his mission with MAFTY. Additionally, Kenneth is preparing to suppress MAFTY, and Gigi's presence significantly impacts both men’s destinies in this intense narrative of drama, combat, and emotional complexity.

Success of the Franchise

This sequel follows the successful first installment, released in Japan on June 11, 2021, which grossed over 2.2 billion yen (approximately USD 19.5 million), marking the first Gundam feature since 1988’s Char’s Counterattack to surpass the billion-yen milestone at the Japanese box office. The first film began streaming exclusively on Netflix U.S. in July 2021.

The Gundam Hathaway trilogy adapts Yoshiyuki Tomino’s novel series from 1989-1990, set in the Universal Century timeline.
