Gundam Base Chicago Coming Soon

Bandai Namco Amusement America Inc. and Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America Inc. have announced that the first official permanent Gundam Base Store in the United States will open its doors in Rosemont, Illinois, at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago on December 12.

Store Features

Covering an impressive 3,000 square feet, the store will offer a variety of exclusive GUNPLA kits and merchandise, alongside:

  • Gundam Card Game displays
  • An event play area
  • Exhibit displays
  • A towering six-foot Gundam statue
  • Limited edition promotional items

Pop-Up Shop and Events

In addition to the permanent store, a limited-time pop-up shop will be available near the main store from December 12, 2025, to January 11, 2026. The Gundam Base Pop-Up World Tour will provide exclusive items, displays, and workshops for fans.

Global Presence

Currently, there are 35 official GUNPLA stores worldwide, with the first opening in South Korea in 2003. Other locations include Tokyo, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Thailand.

The annual Anime Central (ACen) convention, held every May in Rosemont, is expected to draw more fans to the new store, with next year's event scheduled for May 15-17.
