GKIDS has announced that it will screen the latest film in the Lupin III franchise, Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline, in U.S. theaters from January 4 to 6. This highly anticipated anime film promises thrilling adventures and classic characters.

Film Synopsis

The story centers around the gentleman thief Lupin III, who, after narrowly escaping a series of assassins, receives a mysterious invitation to an uncharted island. However, his journey takes a dangerous turn when their plane is shot down. Stranded on the island, Lupin and his allies are hunted by previous foes and a formidable immortal being known as Muom, all while a toxic fog envelops them, threatening Lupin’s legacy.

Film Details

This film marks the first new 2D feature-length addition to the Lupin III franchise in nearly 30 years, following Lupin III: Dead or Alive in 1996. Additionally, the film opened in Japan on June 27 and earned approximately 130 million yen during its opening weekend.
