Southeast Asia's newly combined gaming expo has marked a stellar first year with substantial attendance figures. The Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show 2025 concluded after welcoming 206,159 attendees over a dynamic four-day event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. This represented a 10% increase from the 186,876 visitors recorded during the Thailand Game Show 2024.
Key Highlights
The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote from Glen Schofield, co-creator of Dead Space, which sparked discussions throughout the venue and online. Notable appearances were made by:
- Alexander Karpazis, Creative Director of Rainbow Six Siege X.
- Danny Koo, Executive Producer of Marvel Rivals, who unveiled the game's first-ever PvE mode, Marvel Zombies.
Major game publishers such as PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, and Capcom showcased playable demos of eagerly awaited titles, including:
- Resident Evil: Requiem
- Ninja Gaiden 4
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
In addition to the AAA games, local indie developers had a significant presence, particularly at the Thai Games booth, highlighting the flourishing development scene in the region.
Thailand Game Awards 2025
The event culminated in the Thailand Game Awards 2025, where Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 clinched four major awards, including Game of the Year as determined by Thai gamers. IGN rated this title a 9 out of 10, praising it for its captivating combat mechanics and compelling narrative.
Looking Ahead
During the closing ceremony, Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & VP Asia-Pacific at Koelnmesse, expressed enthusiasm for the future of this event, stating:
“There was so much energy and creativity on show... We are here to stay, to grow this event together.”
The next edition of the Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show is already confirmed for October 29 to November 1, 2026, again in Bangkok.
