Coamix has announced that the manga Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? (Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa inai!?) by Norishiro-chan and Sakana Uozumi will be adapted into an anime set to debut in 2026. While the format of the adaptation remains unspecified, excitement is building in the fan community.

In Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?, readers follow Takuya Seo, an otaku who finds himself in a humorous circumstance involving two popular girls from his class, Ijichi and Amane. Their lives intersect dramatically after a casual moment involving a borrowed eraser, leading to amusing revelations about shared interests in anime. Amane, initially claiming to not be a fan, showcases knowledge that could suggest otherwise.

The manga originally began its serialization in Coamix's Monthly Comic Zenon in August 2021, and its storyline continues to capture readers’ imaginations. The 10th volume was released on June 20, and fans can look forward to the 11th volume, which is due out on October 20.

Additionally, Yen Press has secured the licensing rights for this manga and plans to release the first volume by October 28.
