Gachiakuta Confirms Season 2 and New Projects
After the exciting finale of Gachiakuta’s first season, it has been officially announced that the beloved anime will return for a second season! The news was shared immediately following the airing of the 24th episode, confirming that Rudo and his companions will continue their adventure through the abyss.
To celebrate this announcement, original manga creator Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou released special illustrations. Urana depicted the main characters—Rudo, Enjin, Zanka, and Riyo—in dynamic poses, while Andou illustrated a joyful representation of Urana celebrating the news.
But there’s more than just a new season on the horizon! Two massive projects have been revealed that will expand Gachiakuta’s universe in 2026:
- Gachiakuta: The Game: An action and survival RPG developed by Com2uS Group, aiming to capture the unique atmosphere of the anime. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
- Theater Adaptation: A live-action play set to premiere in Tokyo and Kyoto in May and June 2026. Actor Hikaru Imamaki will portray Rudo, under the direction of Go Ueki.
The first season, produced by Bones Film, debuted in July and was streamed on Crunchyroll. The series concluded with several mysteries remaining, including the secrets of the "Watchman Series" in Canvas Town and the emergence of the Hell Guards. Kei Urana’s manga continues to be serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, with volume 18 scheduled for release in February 2026.
With all these projects underway, Gachiakuta is clearly positioning itself as a key franchise of the new generation. What excites you more: the upcoming second season or the chance to play as the jinkis in the new game?
