Recent images from the Clayface film set have unveiled a reference to the Flying Graysons, suggesting their integration into the DC Universe (DCU). The fan account Superhero Base shared a September 11 post featuring promotional material for the Graysons, a renowned circus family. This family included John, Mary, and Dick Grayson, whose tragic fate struck during a performance at Haly's Circus, where mob involvement led to their deaths.

Originally introduced in 1940's Detective Comics #38, the Flying Graysons captivated audiences at Haly's Circus. Dick Grayson, taken in by Bruce Wayne after his parents' demise, became the first Robin.

Clayface, directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, focuses on the character Matt Hagen, portrayed by Tom Rhys Harries, a former actor who turns to Dr. Caitlin Bates, played by Naomi Ackie, following drastic disfigurement. The film also features Max Minghella as a detective growing suspicious of Hagen's motives, alongside Eddie Marsan in an undisclosed role.

DCU Studios co-head James Gunn praised the Clayface script for its potential as a horror film, noting its focus on body horror—an aspect he finds compelling. Gunn confirmed that the film is expected to be rated R.

Mark your calendars for Clayface's release on September 11, 2026.
