In an exciting announcement during the special event titled "It’s Fist of the North Star Day! Gather Around, All Four Brothers!!" it was revealed that Hiroshi Kurao's spinoff manga, Fist of the North Star: Elegy of Ken-Oh's Army Grunts (Hokuto no Ken: Ken'ō-gun Zako-tachi no Banka), is set to inspire a new short anime. Scheduled to air and stream starting in January 2026, this comedic adaptation promises plenty of laughs.

The series follows protagonist Nobu, who embarks on a precarious journey as just another grunt in Ken-Oh's army, in a world ravaged by a nuclear apocalypse in the year 199X. The tagline boldly states, "Three daily meals included, company room and board, no experience necessary!". Nobu faces the absurdity of a workplace where deaths sadly outnumber job applicants.

Originally launched in November 2017, the manga concluded in February 2020, with its final compiled volume shipping in March 2020. The legacy of Buronson and Tetsuo Hara's groundbreaking original Fist of the North Star manga continues to thrive with this new project.
