ASMIK Ace has released the first six minutes of the anticipated anime film based on Uoto's manga, 100 Meters (Hyakuemu). The film premiered at the Annecy International Film Festival on June 12 and in Japan on September 20. Fans can catch the film in theaters from October 12 to 14, in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dubbed versions, starting with an opening screening in Los Angeles on October 10.

The story follows Togashi, portrayed by Tori Matsuzaka, a natural runner who easily wins races since childhood. His life changes when he meets Komiya, played by Shōta Sometani, a hardworking boy determined to excel at running despite lacking experience. As the narrative unfolds, Togashi mentors Komiya, instilling in him the drive to win, eventually leading to a competitive rivalry as they grow up.

The film boasts a talented voice cast, including:

  • Kōki Uchiyama as Saizu
  • Kenjirō Tsuda as Kaidō
  • Rie Takahashi as Asakusa, among others.

Kenji Iwaisawa (known for ON-GAKU: Our Sound) directs, while Yasuyuki Mutō (Tokyo Revengers) pens the script. The character designs are from Keisuke Kojima, and the music is composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi, featuring the theme song "Rashisa" by Official HiGE DANdism.

Originally launched in November 2018, the Hyakuemu manga is Uoto's first work, with three volumes published as of August 2019. For a thrilling preview, watch the first six minutes now.
