First Look: Ron Weasley, Ginny, and More on Set of HBO's Harry Potter TV Series
A recent set video offers a glimpse Ron and Ginny Weasley, at King's Cross Station.
HBO's highly anticipated Harry Potter TV series is currently in production at London's iconic King's Cross train station, where fans were treated to their first look at notable characters, including Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley, and Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley. The scenes being filmed are expected to depict Harry's initial journey through the hidden wall to Platform 9¾, where young witches and wizards board the Hogwarts Express.
Sporting a Chudley Cannons T-shirt, Ron Weasley was spotted at the station alongside Ginny and Molly, sparking excitement among onlookers. However, due to the secured nature of the set—especially with children involved—photos capturing the filming may be limited as many fans are hopeful to witness scenes unfold live.
The inaugural season of this series is set to adapt J.K. Rowling's beloved The Philosopher's Stone (or The Sorcerer's Stone in the U.S.). Production is scheduled to continue through spring 2026, with a subsequent season expected to begin shortly after. Each book in the series is rumored to translate into a single season, suggesting a comprehensive seven-season arc over nearly a decade.
John Lithgow, who plays Professor Dumbledore, noted the significance of his role, mentioning the commitment it holds for him as he reflects on his career. “It’s probably the last major role I’ll play,” he stated earlier, highlighting the emotional weight of the project.
The cast also features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, among others, ensuring a rich array of talent. With Rowling as both author and executive producer, the series aims to stay true to the intricate details and cherished characters that have inspired fans for over 25 years.
As the excitement builds leading to its premiere in 2027, Harry Potter enthusiasts have much to look forward to as this new adaptation promises to rekindle the magic for both returning and new fans alike.
