First Look at Wizard Scene in New Harry Potter Series
Set photos unveil a wizard from a pivotal scene in Harry Potter.
Recent set photos from the upcoming Harry Potter TV series reveal an unexpected encounter involving Vernon Dursley, portrayed by Daniel Rigby, who has been spotted filming on location in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. This particular scene is not found in the original films but takes place the day after Lord Voldemort’s defeat, capturing Vernon's bewilderment when approached by a small wizard celebrating the dark wizard's fall.
This unnamed wizard is often mistaken for Dedalus Diggle, who makes a brief appearance in J.K. Rowling's The Philosopher's Stone. Fans will recognize the wizard’s joyous demeanor during a pivotal moment as he expresses delight over Voldemort's demise, even engaging the Muggle Vernon's attention.
The series, comprised of eight episodes, is noted for its capacity to delve into moments omitted from the films, providing deeper context about how the Wizarding World reacted to Voldemort’s defeat. This particular scene emphasizes the differences in wizarding culture and fashion, aligning more closely with the 1990s setting described in the books, rather than the early 2000s backdrop portrayed in previous movies.
Notable cast members include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore. The series is helmed by executive producer Francesca Gardiner, with further direction from Mark Mylod. The premiere is scheduled for 2027.
