The REMOW Industry Panel at Anime NYC announced the highly anticipated television adaptation of Shinobu Kaitani's psychological thriller manga, 'Liar Game,' set to debut in 2026. An official website has been launched, showcasing the main staff involved along with a teaser visual and announcement video, heightening excitement among fans.

The creative team includes Chief Director Yuuzou Satou, renowned for his work on 'One Outs,' and Director Asami Kawano, who previously served as assistant director on 'Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu.' Series composition and scriptwriting will be handled by Tatsuhiko Urahata, known for 'Ookami to Koushinryou: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf,' with character design by Kei Tsuchiya of 'Trillion Game.' The sound direction is in the capable hands of Kisuke Koizumi, and the animation will be produced by the esteemed studio Madhouse.

Originally serialized from February 2005 to January 2015 in Young Jump, 'Liar Game' consists of 19 volumes, concluding with its publication by Shueisha in April 2015. The series has been previously adapted into a live-action drama, two films, and a stage play, all of which contributed to its growing popularity.

The story follows college student Nao Kanzaki, whose adherence to honesty leads her into the treacherous 'Liar Game.' After receiving a mysterious package containing a staggering one hundred million yen, she unwittingly becomes embroiled in a tournament where deception reigns supreme. With her future at risk and a lifetime of debt on the line, Nao seeks the help of the notorious con artist Shinichi Akiyama, just released from prison. Together, they navigate a world of betrayal and intense psychological challenge, ultimately facing the true nature of the game and its players.
