Character Overview

Akiya Sanada is portrayed as a former star of the school's basketball team who, after an injury and some rumors regarding an upperclassman, transitions to joining the literature club. This character adds depth to the storyline, highlighting themes of change and personal growth.

Sunao Aikawa, voiced by Sumire Morohoshi, is a second-year high school student who uses a replica of herself, Nao, to attend school when she feels unwell or simply wants to avoid classes. The narrative explores the complexities of identity, love, and the value of genuine feelings — even in replicas.

Production Details

About the Story

Even a Replica Can Fall in Love tells a unique love story from the perspective of a replica created to attend school in place of the original. The narrative illustrates the emotional journey of a character who learns what it means to love, even if they are created from borrowed experiences.

The series has garnered attention, winning the grand prize at the 29th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2022. The novels are published in English by Yen Press, along with a manga adaptation serialized in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine.
