Evangelion Reveals Kabuki Project for 30th Anniversary Celebration
Evangelion celebrates 30 years with a special Kabuki project.
Studio Khara announced that the "EVANGELION: 30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION" festival will take place at the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa from February 21 to 23, 2025. This first festival for the Evangelion franchise will celebrate its milestone anniversary and feature a special unveiling of the Eva Kabuki collaboration project with Shochiku.
At the festival, fans can expect to see an exhibition showcasing works from Khara creators, alongside a stage area dedicated to various live events, including the official reveal of the Eva Kabuki project.
The iconic 1995 anime, available on Netflix, follows Shinji Ikari as he pilots the Humanoid Decisive Weapon Evangelion to combat the Angels threatening Tokyo 3. This groundbreaking series paved the way for a vast array of merchandise, collaborations, and adaptations, including the Rebuild of Evangelion film series that reinterpreted the original storyline.
In addition to the festival's offerings, the franchise has also inspired limited performances, such as the April 2023 stage play "Evangelion Beyond."
This anniversary is set to be a grand celebration of the enduring legacy of Evangelion. Fans are eager to witness what's in store!
