The Evangelion franchise announced that the new anime short, titled Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special Screening, premiered during the "Evangelion:30+" festival on February 21 and is now officially streaming from March 8 at midnight.

Streaming Details

This 13-minute short features Asuka and is set in the Hakone Yumoto Performance Theater. It was also noted that this date marks the fifth anniversary of the film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, marking a special moment for fans of the series.

Production Team

The anime short was planned, scripted, and supervised by Hideaki Anno, with direction by Naoyuki Asano, the animation director for the previous film. Additional supervisors include Kazuya Tsurumaki and Shinji Higuchi, both held pivotal roles in the earlier films of the franchise.

Conduct Policies

The franchise has recently enforced strict policies against unauthorized recordings during live performances at the festival, warning that all such actions may lead to legal action. These measures were implemented after reports of leaks on social media.

The Evangelion:30+ festival took place at the Yokohama Arena from February 21-23, revealing a new Evangelion series and featuring a special performance by Yoko Takahashi, who sang the iconic opening theme of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
