Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 Delayed to 2026

Fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 will have to wait a bit longer. Developer FromSoftware announced via its official X (formerly Twitter) account that the port has been delayed from its original 2025 window to 2026.

According to the statement, the team needs additional time to make performance and optimization adjustments to ensure a smooth experience on Nintendo’s next-generation console. FromSoftware expressed its apologies to players and thanked fans for their continued patience and support during development.

“We want the game to run at its best on all platforms, and that requires more time,” the studio wrote in its update.

About Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition

The Tarnished Edition includes the acclaimed base game Elden Ring, originally launched in February 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, along with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion released in June 2024. This edition also features new armor sets and customization options for your faithful mount, Torrent.

A Look Ahead

While the delay is disappointing for fans, the announcement reinforces FromSoftware’s commitment to delivering a high-quality experience on every platform. Given the technical scope of Elden Ring and its open-world scale, the extra time may help ensure the Switch 2 version performs seamlessly.
