Dynasty Warriors: Origins Set for Switch 2 Launch and New DLC

Koei Tecmo has announced that its action-packed game, Dynasty Warriors: Origins (Shin Sangoku Musō Origins), will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. In addition, all platforms will receive significant paid DLC on the same day.

First released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam last January, the game revolves around a nameless hero navigating the chaotic era of the Three Kingdoms alongside iconic historical figures.

Set before the Yellow Turban Rebellion, the narrative unfolds as the protagonist, suffering from amnesia, encounters Zhang Jiao and Guan Yu while visiting a famine-stricken village. Together, they battle against oppressive government officials, bringing a fresh interpretation to the ancient Chinese saga.

Previously, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires (Shin Sangoku Musō 8 Empires) debuted in Japan in December 2021 before its North American and European release in February 2022. Stay tuned for more updates from Koei Tecmo and their beloved franchise.
