P.A. Works' "Dusk Beyond the End of the World" reveals debut details and promo.
The official website for P.A. Works' upcoming anime series, "Dusk Beyond the End of the World" (Towa no Yugure), recently unveiled its first promotional video, key visual, and additional cast members, alongside a confirmed broadcast debut on September 25. This anime will air its prologue episode, titled "Episode 0," on MBS and TBS’ "Super Animeism Turbo" programming block at 24:26 JST, effectively September 3 at 12:26 a.m. JST. Following this, the first full episode is scheduled to air on October 2.
The newly released promotional video highlights the opening theme song "Platform," performed by Uru. Among the new cast members is Miyu Tomita, who voices Amoru, a young girl on a quest for a banned picture book in a dystopian future.
The story unfolds around Akira, a male high school student who awakens from cold sleep 200 years after a devastating war. In this transformed world, a unified organization called OWEL governs society, and a novel system known as "Elsie" replaces traditional marriage. Upon awakening, Akira encounters Yugure, an android resembling his girlfriend Towasa, who eagerly proposes marriage. Akira embarks on a journey with Yugure, driven by the hope of discovering if Towasa still exists.
The anime is directed by Naokatsu Tsuda, with scripts overseen by him as well. The character designs originate from manga creator Midori Tayama, and the adaptation for animation is being handled by Yoshiko Saitō. Music composition is by Masahiro Tokuda, adding to the series' compelling narrative and aesthetic promise.
