Dr. Eggman Joins Shinobi: Art of Vengeance as DLC Character

In a thrilling development for fans of classic gaming, Sega has revealed that Dr. Eggman, the iconic villain from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, will take center stage as the first boss in the Sega Villains Stage DLC for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game will include this DLC, which is scheduled for release in early 2026, alongside two additional guest characters yet to be announced.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, developed by the Paris-based studio Lizardcube, follows the journey of Joe Musashi, a master of ninja arts. Upon returning home from a previous adventure, he discovers his village devastated and his clan turned to stone. Fueled by a quest for vengeance, Joe embarks on a mission filled with dynamic combat and exploration through beautifully crafted hand-drawn worlds. Players can expect a smooth, engaging gameplay experience that encourages them to uncover various paths and challenges.

The game is set to launch on August 29, 2025, across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. This release marks a significant milestone, reviving a franchise that started with the original Shinobi game in arcades back in 1987.
