Celebrating 30 Years of Detective Conan

The beloved anime series Detective Conan is gearing up to celebrate its 30th anniversary with an exciting new two-hour special titled Detective Conan: 30-gō Satsujin Jiken. This marks the first two-hour episode in a decade, since the 2016 special, Episode One: The Great Detective Turned Small. The new special will feature an original story written by Takeharu Sakurai, who has worked on previous installments of the series.

Special Collaborations and Upcoming Episodes

In addition to the two-hour episode, the series will be launching other collaborative projects. One notable episode will feature a partnership with Japan's J-League, showcasing actress Yūka Kageyama. Another episode will collaborate with the "Japan International Birdman Rally" contest, written by Takahiro Ōkura.

Fans can also look forward to the special Episode 'ZERO' - The Shinichi Kudo Aquarium Case, set to air on January 3, 2026. This narrative occurs before Shinichi Kudo's transformation into Conan Edogawa, focusing on his endeavor to reconcile characters Kogoro Mōri and Eri Kisaki during an aquarium visit that turns deadly.

New Theme and Concerts

Starting January 10, Detective Conan will feature a new ending theme song, "TOWA: Eikyū ni Kaze ni Noru" by Mai Kuraki. Additionally, the franchise will hold concert events in Kanagawa on April 17 and 18, and in Hyogo on May 23 and 24.

Streaming and Episode Collections

TMS Entertainment has announced a new curated collection of episodes, titled "Rivals of the Great Detective," set to stream on January 1 on Netflix and Crunchyroll. This follows the successful launch of another collection, Conan vs. The Black Organization, which features previously unlicensed episodes for U.S. audiences.

Detective Conan, which first aired in 1996, has become a staple in anime culture, airing over 1,100 episodes. The original manga, created by Gōshō Aoyama, continues to captivate audiences to this day.
