Cillian Murphy, known for his acclaimed role in Oppenheimer, has addressed persistent rumors regarding his potential casting as Voldemort in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series. Fans have speculated about his involvement for some time, with sources suggesting he met about the role. However, Murphy recently clarified during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he has not joined the cast. He stated:

"No, my kids show me it occasionally, but no, I don’t know anything about that. It's really hard to follow anything Ralph Fiennes does. The man is an absolute acting legend. So, good luck to whoever is going to fill those shoes."

Interestingly, Fiennes himself expressed support for Murphy taking on the role, calling him a fantastic actor. Alongside this news, Murphy was also linked to the role of Professor Quirinus Quirrell, but that position has been filled. As of now, Voldemort remains uncast for the series. The principal cast includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and John Lithgow as Dumbledore. The show, aiming to faithfully adapt J.K. Rowling's beloved books, promises to introduce new audiences to the magic of Harry Potter. Warner Bros. TV is dedicated to providing a more in-depth storytelling experience across multiple seasons.
