Bungo Stray Dogs Manga Ends First Part
The popular manga Bungo Stray Dogs, created by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa, is set to conclude its first part on March 4, 2026. This announcement was made in the March issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine.
Overview of the Series
Bungo Stray Dogs follows the story of Atsushi Nakajima, a young man who, after being expelled from an orphanage, saves Osamu Dazai from a suicide attempt. Dazai is part of a detective agency featuring individuals with supernatural abilities rooted in literary themes.
Since its launch in December 2012, the manga has gained a significant following. The 27th compiled volume was released in Japan in September 2025, while the 26th volume in English was published by Yen Press on January 20, 2026.
Anime Adaptations
The manga has inspired several anime adaptations:
- The first season aired from April to June 2016.
- A second season followed in October to December 2016.
- The third season premiered in April 2019.
- The fourth season launched in January 2023, and the fifth just concluded in September 2023.
Fans can catch all seasons on Crunchyroll, which streamed the series as it aired. Additionally, an anime film titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple was released in March 2018 and is also available on Crunchyroll.
Upcoming Content
A spin-off manga, Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, launched in December 2015 and currently has 14 volumes. Its anime adaptation's first season premiered in January 2021, with a second season set to debut later this year.
