Blue Miburo Season 2 Updates

The anticipation builds as the staff for the second season of Tsuyoshi Yasuda's Blue Miburo anime has unveiled the second promotional video. This exciting preview not only showcases the upcoming animation but also reveals the opening theme song titled "Blue Noise" by Ryōsuke Yamada and the ending theme "Hōmatsu" by Soushi Sakiyama.



New Cast Members

Alongside this announcement, six additional cast members for the season have been introduced:

  • Kazuki Ura as Hayashi Shintarō
  • Rikuya Yasuda as Asano Tōtarō
  • Kōsuke Takaguchi as Ozeki Yashirō
  • Ryō Sugisaki as Ozeki Masajirō
  • Mitsuki Saiga as Katsura Kogorō
  • Junya Enoki as Sakamoto Ryōma

The anime's second season is set to premiere in Japan on December 20 at 5:30 p.m. JST, adapting the "Serizawa Assassination" arc. OceanVeil will stream the episodes an hour after their broadcast in Japan.

Returning Staff and Production Team

Key production members are returning for this season:

  • Kumiko Habara returns to direct at Maho Film.
  • Kenta Ihara is handling the series scripts once again.
  • Character designs will be done by Yūko Ōba and Miyako Nishida.
  • Toshiki Kameyama is back as sound director and Yūki Hayashi will compose the music.

The first season debuted in October 2024, and after an engaging run of two cours, attracted significant attention. The series was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired.

Manga Details

Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga under the title The Blue Wolves of Mibu. The story follows Nio, an orphan who dreams of a better future, and his encounters with two men who teach him the power of swords to change history. The manga commenced in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in October 2021, with its 14th compiled book volume published in July 2024. The new arc, "Shinsengumi Arc," began in April 2024, with the eighth volume set to release on December 17.

For those interested, Tsuyoshi Yasuda's previous works include the soccer manga DAYS and the bicycling manga Over Drive, both of which were adapted into anime.
