The official website for the anime adaptation of Keisuke Itagaki's Baki-Dou manga streamed a main promotional video recently. This exciting video announces the opening and ending theme songs for the show:
- Opening Theme: "Furuboko" by the rock band WANIMA
- Ending Theme: "Mountain Top" by singer-songwriter Novel Core
Premiere Details
This highly anticipated anime will debut globally on Netflix on February 26, with all 13 episodes available for streaming at once. Naoya Uchida will lend his voice to the character Miyamoto Musashi.
Source Material Background
Baki-Dou is part of a broader franchise that began with Baki the Grappler, which ran for 42 volumes from 1991 to 1999. Following its success, multiple sequels and adaptations emerged:
- Baki The Sequel: 31 volumes (1999-2005)
- Hanma Baki: 37 volumes (2005-2012)
- A first Baki-Dou manga series launched in March 2014 and concluded in April 2018, spanning 22 volumes.
- A new Baki-Dou manga started in October 2018 and finished in June 2023, featuring new characters despite sharing the same title.
- The latest installment, Baki Rahen, debuted in August 2023.
