A new trailer reveals the full opening song for the anticipated anime adaptation of "Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon."
The trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of "Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon: My Trusted Companions Tried to Kill Me, But Thanks to the Gift of an Unlimited Gacha I Got LVL 9999 Friends and Am Out For Revenge!" has debuted, illustrating the vibrant world and exciting characters of this intriguing series. With its premiere scheduled for October 3, the video features the opening song “Sen Yori Kaminari Ya, Sarariya Takaki” by Tei, along with a glimpse of the thrilling animation and plot.
HIDIVE is set to simulcast the anime as part of its fall 2025 lineup, promising fans an engaging viewing experience. The narrative, originally crafted by Shisui Meikyou, first appeared on Shōsetsuka ni Narō four years ago before being picked up by Hobby Japan. In addition to the anime, a manga adaptation is also in progress, further expanding its reach.
The story revolves around Light, who, after being betrayed by his companions and cast out of the Concord of the Tribes, must navigate the treacherous depths of the Abyss. Utilizing his magical skill, the Unlimited Gacha, Light summons Mei—an extraordinary Level 9999 fighter—to aid him in building a cadre of powerful allies. Now an Overlord in his own right, Light plots to ascend to the surface and exact revenge on those who wronged him.
