Amazon Prime Video to stream A Star Brighter Than the Sun anime.
The official website for the anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara's manga, A Star Brighter Than the Sun (Taiyō Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi), has announced that Amazon's Prime Video will start streaming the series worldwide on October 3 at 12:56 a.m. JST. The premiere will take place on October 2 at 11:56 p.m. on the TBS channel and its affiliates. The world premiere occurred during Anime Expo in July.
The cast includes:
- Minori Fujidera as Sae Iwata
- Yūki Ono as Kōki Kamishiro
- Hina Yomiya as Hisui Onodera
- Taito Ban as Yōta Ayukawa
- Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa
- Ryōta Ōsaka as Yūshin Izawa
- Haruka Shiraishi as Subaru Kamishiro
Sayaka Kobayashi is directing at Studio KAI, while Yasuhiro Nakanishi handles the series scripts. Character design is by Jin Feng Zeng, and music is composed by Natsumi Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai. The opening theme, "Stellar Days," is performed by Motohiro Hata, while Wanuka sings the ending theme, "Saishin-wa" (Latest Episode).
Viz Media released the manga's first volume in English on March 4, with the third volume following on September 2. The narrative revolves around childhood friends Sae and Kōki, exploring their evolving feelings as they transition into high school, amidst competition from other suitors.
