'Always a Catch!' Anime Announcement

The official website for the anime adaptation of the light novel Always a Catch! (Nigashita Sakana wa Ookikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ookisugita Ken) by Mayo Momoyo has officially confirmed that the series is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2026. Accompanying this announcement is a trailer that showcases the promising start of the series along with a striking teaser image.

Cast of Characters

• Maria Annovazzi: Voiced by Yuu Serizawa (known for roles in Kakegurui and How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord)
• Renato di Rubini: Voiced by Atsushi Tamaru (notable for work on Tamako Market and Fate/Extra Last Encore)
• Aida Amethis: Voiced by Saori Hayami (recognized from Spy x Family and Oregairu)

Production Team

The original story of Nigashita Sakana wa Ookikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ookisugita Ken was first published by Mayo Momoyo as a short tale on the platform Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2020. That same year, she began a sequel series set within the same universe, blending romance, comedy, and social intricacies within a modern fantasy setting.
