DC Comics' Absolute Universe is redefining its major characters, including Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. In Absolute Batman, readers are introduced to a Joker that is far more monstrous than the traditional character, raising the stakes for the hero.

As Scott Snyder, the writer of the series, revealed, this Joker is designed to be a formidable foe, one that could seamlessly fit into a horror narrative. The series has gained traction as one of DC Comics' best-sellers following the success of Snyder's past work with Batman during The New 52.

In a recent AMA with League of Comic Geeks, Snyder hinted at exciting developments for fans, including the Absolute versions of Scarecrow and Poison Ivy.

"Scarecrow is something very different [from] the other villains we've seen so far," Snyder shared. "Ivy will appear soon, showcasing powerful yet mesmerizing abilities."

Elaborating on Scarecrow, he described a character who is obsessed with fear. Snyder's research into the history of scarecrows led to a darker interpretation—one that manipulates fear for personal gain.
