A Star Brighter Than the Sun Anime Set for Second Season
The official website for the anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara's A Star Brighter Than the Sun (Taiyō Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi) has recently announced that the series will be returning for a second season. A commemorative visual featuring Kawahara was shared to celebrate this news.
The first season concluded with its twelfth and final episode, which aired on December 14. The anime made its debut on October 2, with the world premiere held at Anime Expo in July. Fans can stream the series globally on Amazon's Prime Video.

The series is directed by Sayaka Kobayashi at Studio KAI. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is responsible for the series scripts, while Jin Feng Zeng designs the characters. Music composition is handled by Natsumi Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai, with Motohiro Hata performing the opening theme song "Stellar Days" and Wanuka performing the ending theme "Saishin-wa".
Manga Background
Viz Media has released the manga's first volume in English, launched on March 4, followed by the fourth volume on December 2. The story revolves around childhood friends Sae and Kōki as they navigate high school and budding romances. Kawahara initially launched the manga in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine in June 2021, and it has since garnered significant popularity.
A total of 12 compiled book volumes have been shipped by Shueisha, with the most recent released on August 25.
