5 Centimeters per Second Live-Action Film Unveils Main Visual and New Cast Members

The upcoming live-action adaptation of Makoto Shinkai's beloved 2007 anime film, 5 Centimeters per Second, has revealed a striking main poster visual featuring lead actors Hokuto Matsumura as Takaki Tono and Mitsuki Takahata as Akari Shinohara. Announced on the film's official website, the visual marks a significant step in the marketing campaign leading up to its release.

Scheduled for release in Japan on October 10, 2025, the film has also announced a robust cast, including nine additional members for key supporting roles. The film is directed by Yoshiyuki Okuyama, recognized for his visually captivating music videos, while Ayako Suzuki is handling the screenplay. Matsumura, part of the idol group SixTONES, steps into the pivotal role of Takaki.
