Doraemon Set to Remake Classic Film for 2026 Release
Doraemon's 2026 film remakes a classic underwater adventure.
A new website has announced the 2026 Doraemon film, titled Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjō (Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil). This upcoming 45th 2D anime film revisits the iconic 1983 movie, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil.
The teaser visual boasts a tagline: "10,000 meters below sea level. On this Earth, there lies a world no one has yet to uncover."
Tetsuo Yajima, known for directing various Pokémon films and episodes of the Doraemon anime, is returning for this project. Isao Murayama, a veteran screenwriter who also worked on the Doraemon television series, has penned the screenplay for this film.
